Texas Accomplishments at NRPA

It’s been a great year for Texas parks and many of these efforts from parks, agencies and individuals advancing the Industry were recognized by NRPA in Baltimore.

Congratulations to the following Texas achievements from the 2019 NRPA Conference.

Gold Medal Award

Class III | The Woodlands Township
100% of homes in the Township are within a 10-Minute Walk of a Park, equating to 1 park per 828 of 115,000 residents. It’s no surprise that 98% of residents indicated the

Department’s services are extremely valuable.

Coppell Parks and Recreation was also celebrated as a finalist for the Gold Medal Award in Class IV.

CAPRA Accreditation

Congratulations to Allen Parks and Recreation for achieving their first CAPRA Accreditation.

Rowlett Parks and Recreation were also re-accredited for a second year.

CAPRA is the only national accreditation of park and recreation agencies and is a valuable measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community.
