Recruiting and retaining employees at every level in the parks and recreation field has presented challenges in recent years. The challenges have intensified due to outside factors. This session will explore the current job market, creative recruiting techniques, competing with private-sector employers and how to maximize the tenure of good employees.
- Understand how the hiring function can maximize internal and external relationships for recruiting purposes.
- Understand how operational policies and procedures impact recruiting and retention.
- Understand that different employee groups may be driven by different incentives to continue employment with the organization.
