The Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) is committed to doing its part in keeping the TRAPS family safe; and supporting the health and well-being of all Texans. Therefore, the 2020 P.E.A.K.S. conference scheduled for May 8 & 9 has been cancelled in keeping with the CDC, and the Texas Department of State Health Services guidelines for COVID-19.
TRAPS is exploring and/or offering other alternatives to assist members and other park and recreation, therapeutic recreation and leisure services professionals in meeting their continuing education and professional development needs:
1) TRAPS has partnered with the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA) and is participating in IPRA’s monthly webinar series. Please refer to the TRAPS website for schedule and additional information.
2) TRAPS is coordinating a series of webinars (POOLaide) that will be free to TRAPS members through the end of May.
3) TRAPS will be exploring options for one day workshops, hopefully utilizing some of the P.E.A.K.S. topics and/or speakers for this summer. NOTE: opportunities for in-person education remains fluid and subject to the COVID-19 situation.
