New board members will be installed at the Annual Institute this February in Corpus Christi.

Description of each position –
At-Large Directors – This two-year term represents the state on the Society’s Board of Directors. Commitments include serving on various standing committees and attending four board meetings. Candidates must have been TRAPS members for four years.
- At-Large Director 1 – Future & Young Professional Branch, Leisure & Aging Branch, Minorities in Leisure Services Branch, Recreation Programming and Special Events, and Therapeutic Recreation Branch ATRA Chapter
- At-Large Director 3 – Awards Committee, Scholarships Committee, Nominations, Election, Constitution and Bylaws Committee, Finance Committee, and Membership Committee
Regional Director (Central and West) – These candidates must have been TRAPS members for four years and be willing to represent their region as director. Requirements include the responsibility of coordinating and/or hosting annual training workshops, attending four annual board meetings, and serving on various standing committees. This is a two-year term of office.
Nominations and Elections Timeline:
Week of July 28: Nominations Open
August 29: Nominations Close
September 24: Slate of Nominees approved at Board meeting
September 30: Ballots emailed to all eligible voters per TRAPS Bylaws and Constitution
October 9: midnight: Ballots due
October 25: Election Ratified by Board of Directors
Week of October 20: Announcement of elected board members
February 12, 2026: Installation of new officers at TRAPS Institute in Corpus Christi, Texas
