Board of Directors Nominations and Elections

TRAPS Board of Directors candidate nomination process launched July 8, 2024 and closed August 19, 2024. The Board of Directors certified the slate of candidates at the August 29, 2024 Board of Directors meeting held in Allen, Texas. At this time the Board is announcing the slate of candidates who have agreed to run, and serve, if elected.

Positions available for nomination for 2024 –

President-Elect
At Large Director 2
East Region Director
North Region Director
South Region Director

Description of each position –

President-Elect This candidate must have been a member in good standing for four years and have previously served on the TRAPS Board of Directors. This is a three year commitment–to serve in the capacity as President-Elect, President and then Past-President. Candidates should be prepared for considerable time commitments related to various meetings and for travel requirements.
 

At-Large DirectorsThis two-year term represents the state on the Society’s Board of Directors. Commitments include serving on various standing committees and attending four board meetings. Candidates must have been TRAPS members for four years. 

Regional Director (East, North, and South)  These candidates must have been TRAPS members for four years and be willing to represent their region as director. Requirements include the responsibility of coordinating and/or hosting annual training workshops, attending four annual board meetings, and serving on various standing committees. This is a two-year term of office.

Nominations and Elections Timeline:

Week of July 8: Nominations Open
August 19: Nominations Close
August 29: Slate of Nominees approved at Board meeting
September 9: Ballots emailed to all eligible voters per TRAPS Bylaws and Constitution
September 20: midnight: Ballots due
September 24: Election Ratified by Board of Directors
Week of September 30: Announcement of elected board members
February 27, 2025: Installation of new officers at TRAPS Institute in Allen, Texas
