National Playground Safety Inspector Certification Course and Exam Sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association's (NRPA), the National Playground Safety Institute's (NPSI) Playground Safety Inspector Certification Course provides the most comprehensive and widely recognized training available on playground hazard identification and risk management.

Advanced reading and 10 hours of classroom instruction by nationally recognized playground safety experts will prepare you to sit for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Exam. The NPSI course includes classroom instruction, resource materials developed especially for the course, CEUs (optional), required off-site visit on hazard identification and safety audit (Tuesday), and exam (Wednesday).

Delegates who successfully pass the NPSI course exam will be certified for three (3) years. Renewal of certification may be achieved through a re-examination process.

Other Requirements are as follows:

  • Registration is limited to 80 (minimum of 40); absolutely no walk-ins allowed.
  • Books and resource materials will not be sent if full payment is not received by registration deadline.
  • Advanced reading prior to attending the school is strongly recommended.

    To enroll in the NPSI Course and/or Exam:

  • Complete Registration Form or Online Registration
  • Include payment: check, money order or Visa/MasterCard (check or money order payments should be made out to TRAPS - NPSI)
  • Mail complete form and payment to the TRAPS, PO Box 5188, Jonestown, TX 78645, fax credit card payment with form to (512) 267-5557 or register online.
  • Registration must be received by Monday September 15, 2008 and minimum must be reached to insure class.
  • Refreshment breaks are included in registration fee & lunch on Wednesday. Lunch on Tuesday is on your own.
