Get the word out! This Society was founded to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experience to park, recreation, and leisure service professionals throughout the state. Newly employed professionals in the field are best served by drawing on the experience of those who have served before them.

Membership in the Texas Recreation and Park Society means greater influence on a regional, state, and national level to continue providing the highest level of quality leisure services to the citizens and constituents we are employed to serve.

To become a member, please print out and complete the New Membership Form or join on-line. Type or print legibly, and send the form, with payment, to the Texas Recreation and Park Society, PO Box 5188, Jonestown, TX 78645. Payment must be received in order to process. No PO's will be accepted. We gladly accept Visa and MasterCard. Sorry, we do not take American Express or Discover.

Publications and Information are available to members through four issues of Texas Talk newsletter, four issues of Texas Recreation and Park Society Magazine, and a copy of the Annual Membership Directory and Buyer's Guide.

Networking and Mentor Opportunities are afforded at at the regional and state conferences, and current job postings and information are provided through publications and the TRAPS website.

Training and Certification Programs are offered at the Annual Institute and Trade Show, regional conferences and workshops, and through our affiliation with NRPA.

Scholarships and Awards presented each year at the Institute honor the outstanding achievements and programs of members, citizens and agencies.

Legislative Advocacy and Awareness as our Legislative Committee and NRPA affiliates keep members up-to-date on emerging issues and create pathways for communicating with legislators at the state and national levels.

TRAPS has several levels of membership to meet the needs of all parks and recreation professionals, students, retirees, agencies and affiliates. Our levels of membership and dues include:

Agency Membership- $400

Affiliate Membership - $125

Commercial Vendor Membership - $150

Individual Memberships

Professional (non agency) - $80

Professional (agency) - $65

Active Retiree - $50

Associate - $50

Student Membership - $20

Volunteer!
Serve on one of the standing committees, or get actively involved with one of the regional planning committees that promote the activities of the Society. For information regarding events in your region, please contact the Society office or your regional director.
Promote!
Encourage staff and peers in your department, or in departments you deal with regularly, to join and become actively involved in the Society. The organization as a whole, and you individually, have much to gain by diversifying and broadening the base of skills, knowledge, and ability within our profession.
